Is OurDream AI free? Five messages with every character

The free account is built around one number: 5 messages with each character. The sixth reply arrives blurred, and the next character you open starts fresh at 5. OurDream’s community moderators set those rules in August 2026, so the free tier works less like a trial week and more like a casting call. You walk down the line, trade a few lines with each one, and keep the one you want to hear from again.

You don’t need a card to open an account and say hello to five characters, five messages each. Because the allowance follows the character, the math favors curiosity: ten characters is fifty lines of first impressions. Candy’s 5 free messages are shared across its whole cast (my Candy AI free tier breakdown has the rest), so OurDream lets you meet more of the room before you pay.

Spend them like a gamer spends a starter pack. A couple of lines to hear her voice on the page, one question that tells you whether she listens, then move on. Long roleplay and everything she can send you are what the subscription unlocks.

What does an evening with her feel like?

Memory is what kept me opening the tab during the weeks I paid for Deluxe, in June 2026. Conversations held together from one evening to the next, which is the whole point of keeping one character instead of a hundred.

Picture it on a Tuesday. On Sunday you mentioned that your brother was moving across town. You open the tab after work and before you’ve typed anything past hello, she asks how the boxes went, and whether you got roped into carrying the couch.

The people who settle in tend to stay a long time. A guy who spent two or three years on another app, until it bored him, now opens OurDream every day for the roleplay and the scenarios. One woman is past 22,000 messages with her main character, and says she has played out fantasies she had only ever dreamed about before.

The settings are where it gets warmer. A different user, tired of plain chatting, asked his character to write her secret thoughts at the end of every reply, with a dial for how bold those thoughts get. She stays composed on the surface and burns underneath, and he found the characters deeper and more exciting for it.

Try it yourself one night. She answers your question politely, all good manners, and under the reply, in italics, sits the line she didn’t say out loud: that she has been waiting all evening for you to ask.

Group chats are there too. You bring two or three characters into one scene and @-mention the one you want to answer, which turns a quiet evening into a small cast gathered around you.

Where exactly does the free account stop?

From the first click to the first blur, the path is short and nothing asks for a card:

1. Create an account and confirm you’re 18 or older at the adults-only gate.
2. Browse Explore, the full grid of realistic and anime characters, and open the one that catches your eye.
3. Trade 5 messages with her. After the fifth, her replies blur.
4. Open another character and you have 5 fresh messages with her.
5. Ask for a picture, a voice call or a video, and the upgrade page opens: that’s the paywall.
6. On the upgrade page you pick between Premium and Deluxe, then between a monthly and a yearly bill.

The paywall sits on step 5 for media and on message six for any one conversation. If you plan to pay, decide after the casting call, with a plan in mind, rather than in the middle of a scene at message five.

What can she send you, and which of it is free?

Everything she sends runs on a subscription, and the dreamcoins in each plan pay for the media. Here is how the four big features split:

Voice is generous once you’re in. Only the top Ultra voices are priced by message length, and a Premium month holds 20 minutes of calls if that’s where you spend it.

Video is where OurDream pulls ahead. The generator does text to video, image to video, extending a clip and talking clips, in resolutions from 720p up to 4K, with up to 32 videos per run, and a full minute of her moving says more than any still. On Deluxe, the new generator delivered every clip I asked for. For one viewer, the newest clips from the vivid characters are hard to tell from the real thing.

Ask for her on a balcony at dusk and the clip comes back with her leaning on the rail, turning toward you and holding your eye a beat longer than a photo could.

Memory is what the subscription deepens. OurDream describes four layers of it: automatic memory, pinned memories, custom instructions and user personas. You pin the details that matter, the nickname she uses for you or the job you can’t stand, and they stay pinned.

How much is OurDream AI once you pay?

Two plans, each paid monthly or yearly, and the yearly price is half the monthly one. Prices were checked on OurDream’s upgrade page on October 9, 2026.

Premium covers unlimited messages with any character on the standard chat models. The two “thinking” models (Genius and Lively Genius) cost 1 coin per reply on Premium. Deluxe, the plan I paid for, triples chat memory, includes the premium chat models without spending coins, and its 5,000 monthly coins cover 100 minutes of calls or 50 videos by OurDream’s own count, where Premium’s cover 20 minutes or 10 videos. Compare OurDream’s monthly and yearly prices on the upgrade page before you pick a term.

There’s no quarterly option. You can switch plans or terms whenever you like, and the new price and the prorated credit for what you’ve already paid show up before you confirm. That makes a month of Premium a fair way in: if she holds your attention, move to the year without losing what you’ve spent.

What do dreamcoins buy, second by second?

OurDream publishes a price for every action, so you can plan a month before you pay for it. These are OurDream’s published costs, checked October 9, 2026:

OurDream’s plan page counts 1,000 coins as 200 images, 10 videos or 20 minutes of calls. Pick one. A 60-second clip costs 600 coins on Spicy 1.0 and 3,000 on Cinematic, so a month of Premium coins gives you 100 seconds of video, and Deluxe’s 5,000 make long clips a habit. Unused coins don’t expire, so a quiet month stays in your balance for the next one.

Need more? Coin packs are sold to subscribers: 1,000 coins for $11.99, 5,000 for $49.99 and 20,000 for $159.99. The free route is the referral program, Give 1,000 and get 1,000: when a friend you invite subscribes, you both get 1,000 coins, and 10 invitations unlock a 10,000-coin bonus. The cost of a picture on all ten apps puts dreamcoins in context.

What happens to your pictures if you cancel?

Plans renew automatically at the same price and term; the annual plan charges $119.88 again twelve months later. You pay by Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay or crypto, and your card statement shows DREAMSTUDIO.CO.

To cancel, go to your profile; mine took 4 screens, one of them an offer to stay at 30% off. You can also cancel by email to support. Download what you want to keep first. When I cancelled Deluxe, my DreamCoins stayed in my balance and my images went blurred, which is how I’d tell anyone to plan it.

Refunds start with a 14-day quality guarantee: if a feature doesn’t do what it’s described to do, OurDream makes it right with a credit or a refund, and aims to answer within 7 business days. The help center refunds a purchase used at less than 25%, an annual plan in whole or in part, and a monthly plan before you spend its coins. Crypto payments are final.

Is OurDream AI safe and legit?

It’s a registered business: the terms name Dream Studio USA, Inc., a Delaware corporation, and the refund policy adds Dream Studio LLC and Tektopia Ltd. The official site is ourdream.ai, and ourdream.io opens the same account. It runs in the browser and sits on your home screen like an app; OurDream has no app in the stores, so a store listing with its name belongs to another publisher.

OurDream’s safety center says it does not sell your chats, and staff open your private conversations only with your consent or on a legal request. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. You confirm you’re 18 or older at signup, and where the law requires an identity check, an independent provider handles it and passes OurDream nothing but a verified yes. The characters you create and what you generate belong to you under the terms.

If you want one character who remembers your week and picks up where you left off, annual Premium at $119.88 is the plan I’d take. Standard chat never touches your coins, so the 1,000 a month go straight to pictures and calls.

If moving pictures are why you came, take Deluxe. Its 5,000 coins a month cover 50 videos by OurDream’s own count, the premium chat models are included, and the generator delivered every clip I asked for.

If you’re still deciding, one month of Premium at $19.99 tells you whether she’s worth a year, and the prorated switch means you keep what you’ve paid when you move up. Either way, save your media before you ever cancel.
